On Sunday, November 26th, 2017, at approximately 1905 hours, K9 Deputy Jeremy Hendrix conducted a traffic stop on a black Toyota vehicle which displayed a white light emmitting to the rear. Upon making contact with the driver, K9 Deputy Hendrix identified himself and advised the driver of the reason for stop. While the driver was getting his drivers license, vehicle registration, and proof of liability insurance, K9 Deputy Hendrix detected an odor of marijuana emmitting from the vehicle. As the driver handed over his documentation, he also stated that he had marijuana on his person. K9 Deputy Hendrix advised the driver to step out of the vehicle, at which time he was placed into handcuffs. A search of his person was then conducted, resulting in two medication bottles being removed from his jacket. The smallest bottle contained two hand rolled cigarettes with a green leafy substance. The second bottle contained what appeared to be a "bud" of a marijuana plant. The driver was placed into K9 Deputy Hendrix's patrol unit pending a further search of the vehicle. The driver Jerry McMoran W/M from Jacksonville Ar was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance.
