On Sunday, December 3rd, 2017, K9 Deputy Hendrix, while sitting stationary observed a black 4 door vehicle pass by in which the passenger side headlight was not functioning properly.

Deputy Hendrix maintained site of the vehicle, and conducted a traffic stop on said vehicle.

Upon making contact with the driver, Deputy Hendrix identified himself and the reason for the stop. Deputy Hendrix asked the driver to produce his drivers license, vehicle registration, and proof of valid insurance. While the driver was producing his identification, Deputy Hendrix detected an odor of raw marijuana emmiting from the vehicle.

At the time of detecting the odor, Deputy Hendrix radioed for Deputy Hughes to assist.

Upon Deputy Hughes arriving on scene, Deputy Hendrix advised the driver that a search of the vehicle would be conducted based on the smell of marijuana detected inside of the vehicle. Before exiting the vehicle, the driver produced a bag of green leafy substance, and handed it to Deputy Hendrix.

The driver exited the vehicle, and moved to the rear as instructed. At that time, the driver was placed into handcuffs and advised he was being detained based on the marijuana, as well as having a suspended drivers license.

A thorough search of the vehicle was conducted which yielded no futher contraband.

The driver Eddie Ringo B/M from Pine Bluff, Ar was arrested for Driving on a suspended license and possession of a controlled substance.
