On Friday the 11th day of May 2018 Deputy Bo Morris was on patrol in the area of Nevada 14 near Emmet. Deputy Morris observed a silver vehicle parked next to New Liberty Church. Deputy Morris made contact with the suspicious vehicle and its occupants.
As Deputy Morris was approaching the vehicle two females exited the vehicle. The females were identified as Amber McClure and Jamie Henderson from Camden, Ar. Deputy Morris requested both subjects to sit back down in the vehicle with Henderson complying and McClure refusing. Deputy Morris noticed that McClure had an item in her hand when she exited the vehicle. McClure was pacing back to the rear of the vehicle and back after refusing to sit back in the vehicle.
Deputy Morris ran a check on the vehicle with it returning to Amber McClure. Amber McClure was acting nervous and very verbal at the time of contact. McClure's action led Deputy Morris to believe she was under the influence of some type of narcotics. Deputy Morris asked McClure for consent to search her vehicle with McClure stating No.
K-9 Deputy Jeremy Hendrix was contacted and arrived on scene within a few minutes.
K-9 Deputy Hendrix deployed his partner Diego around the vehicle for a free air sniff with Diego alerting on the vehicle. Due to the K-9 alert on the vehicle a search of the vehicle was conducted. K-9 Deputy Hendrix located two plastic baggies that contained a white crystal type substance believed to be methamphetamine residue. A further search of the vehicle was conducted finding two hypodermic needles and syringes. A further search of the area around the vehicle was conducted, locating a glass pipe commonly used for smoking methamphetamine and a Camel Snus can that contained a green leafy substance along with two more baggies that contained a white crystal type substance believed to be methamphetamine. All items were located near the area Amber McClure had been sitting on the passenger side of the vehicle.
Amber McClure was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance and for possession of drug paraphernalia and was transported to the Nevada County Detention facility.
