On Sunday the 23rd day December 2018 K-9 Deputy Jeremy Hendrix also a 8th North Task Force officer made a traffic stop on a white Nissan Altima displaying Ohio license on Highway 19 north.
The stop was made due to a moving violation.
K-9 Hendrix observed an odor of what was known to him to be associated with marijuana coming from within the vehicle.
Both occupants were requested to exit the vehicle to the rear and K-9 Diego was used to conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle. K-9 Diego alerted to the vehicle during the free air sniff.
K-9 Deputy Hendrix conducted a search of the vehicle locating an undetermined amount of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana inside of the vehicle. Hendrix also located a handgun inside of the vehicle that showed to be stolen along with an open container of alcohol.
Both occupants of the vehicle, Ashley Tucker and Keisha Lee from Tennessee were arrested and charged with Theft by receiving, Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of Drug paraphernalia and for having an open container of alcohol. Both subjects were transported to the Nevada County Detention facility to await first appearance on the charges.
